AWOL and a Speed Scrap

I have been so completely AWOL from my digi blog. I feel bad for being so neglectful but I have added a few other commitments to my life so I have to prioritize things and really, as much as I love and live for scrapping, it just isn’t the MOST important thing in my world. I have missed the Speed Scraps though and I am really hoping to be able to participate in this one. The free prize is so cute too. Hope to see you all over at ScrapMatters this Thursday. These are so much fun.

A New ScrapMatters and a Speed Scrap

If you haven’t been to ScrapMatters recently you are really in for a surprise! It’s a whole new store with an incredible new look and wonderfully talented new designers. We have so much happening you won’t believe it. Tonight we are having one of our world famous (I can say that because we have a very intertnational site and our world wide community loves our Speed Scraps) Speed Scraps. If you haven’t ever joined us for one of these you really should join us. They are a blast!!!

It’s a Double Speed Scrap at ScrapMatters and There’s Always a Freebie!

We are having, not one but two, Speed Scraps at ScrapMatters Tuesday, July 22nd.  We hope you can join us for both but if not we’d love to see you at one of them. The morning SS will be hosted by Ktkadoo (Katie) and will begin at 10 PDT, 11 MDT, 12 CDT, and 1 EDT.  The evening SS will be hosted by myself, Shari (SHARIng Creations) at 6 PDT, 7 MDT, 8 CDT and 9 EDT. 

I have put together two participation prizes for everyone that joins us. We hope to see you at both scraps but for those of you that can only participate in one your prize will be a mini kit I put together in honor of a very memorable family reunion I attended this past weekend. Double Page and Two New Kits at ScrapMatters

I have been doing a lot of 2 page LO’s for some reason. I guess because when I paper scrapped I almost always made my layouts into two pages. It just looks nice in the book that way. I got away from that since I started digi scrapping but the past week I’ve done mostly double page layouts. I know some day I will get these printed into a book and I still believe they will look nicer if both pages coordinate. That being said I just have to shout out about two new kits that are in the ScrapMatters shop. We have some fantastic designers and Leslie of GG Digital Designs is one of them. She has two new kits “Summer Lovin Boy” and “Summer Lovin Girl” that are so cute. The colors are bright and summery and the elements are darling and she even has a modest one piece swimsuit in it for all us Mormon girls. I love it. Here is a double page layout I did using elements from both kits.

SPEED SCRAP MANIA THAT INLCUDES FREEBIES!!!

If you want to enjoy the most fun digital scrapping experience you have got to participate in our Speed Scrap over at ScrapMatters this week. Andrea is hosting two so you should be able to find one that fits your schedule. If you have never participated in one I’m telling you they are too fun. You get a new rule every ten minutes on what to do with your LO. After an hour you have an additional hour to get your LO finished and posted in the gallery. If you aren’t registered at ScrapMatters make sure you go and do that now so you don’t have to mess with that part on one of the Speed Scrap Days.  There are always freebies and a drawing for a store coupon too. It is so much fun. I hate it when I have to miss them so I’m really excited there are two this week. Here is the post from Andrea and here is the link to get you to the Forum.

Well I couldn’t decide on a time for the speed scrap that I am hosting this week. I wanted to be able to include people in Europe who are usually asleep during the evening speed scraps. But yet I knew some people who would be mighty disappointed if we didn’t have a speed scrap in the evening (US time) this week, sooo…..I decided on Tuesday 7pm (Pacific time) and Thursday at 10 am (Pacific time).These will be two totally different speed scraps with two totally different sets of rules.

For those of you who manage to squeeze one of these speed scraps into your busy schedule you will receive a fantastic mini kit by Ellie Lash called Wish Garden.

For those of you crazy enough to do both speed scraps you can also receive your choice of my What’s Hangin’ Tag Alpha or my What’s Hangin’ Journals & Tags.

My Independence!!!

I have a brand new kit out and I just love it. It represents so many things to me. The first one is of course the independence of the United States of America, which we celebrate here in the States on July 4th. It also represents my independence from paper scrapping. I have been digi scrapping for a few months now but with this, my fourth solo kit, I’m feeling pretty confident that I will never return to paper scrapping again. I think I love that feeling.  You can find My Independence selling at ScrapMatters.

 

Here are a few layouts I put together with My Independence. This kit is very versatile and certainly not limited to American users. Here are a few LO’s to give you some great page ideas.

These first two I did for a challenge at ScrapMatters. We had to do a LO about an obsession so I did one of my great nephew’s obsession with horses and the rodeo. He loves the rodeo and pretends he is a bronco rider. It is the cutest thing.

This one is some backyard photos I took of my kids last year. I have actually scrapped these before but I thought this was the perfect kit to scrap them with so I did it again. That’s the great thing about digi scrapping.

Next is a two pager I did of my youngest son during some of his more peaceful moments. I love the stars hanging on the wires.
